The Gaskell Arms Hotel is a charming 3 Star Rated 17th century Coaching Inn set in the Medieval Town of Much Wenlock. We have 16 En-suite rooms offering single, double, twin, suites and family rooms. The Bus Stop is just around the corner from the hotel on the main A458
The nearest Railway Station is Telford approximately 10 miles away. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one for you in advance if required
There are several local taxi companies; we can make bookings in advance for you
We regret that we are unable to accommodate dogs, only assistance dogs or guide dogs
Menus can be provided in large print if required. We regret that we do not have facilities to prepare documents in Braille.

To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 2.00 pm. Earlier arrival may, however, be possible by arrangement
We have a large private car park at the rear of the hotel which is on a very slight incline and tarmaced. This access is most accessible
The entrance to the reception area is from the car park on a level surface with no steps
We offer assistance with luggage
There is parking available for up to 40 vehicles
There is one step of down from the reception area into the lounge. The step height is 7” and width 2’ 7” with vertical handrail assistance on one side. A ramp can be provided for wheelchair users
If you arrive from the car park entrance, the front desk is immediately in front of you
The reception desk is 39 inches High. Registration can be completed whilst sitting in the reception area and we have clipboards available
On check-in, the staff will brief you of our evacuation policy

Lighting is mainly natural daylight whilst for the evening meal lighting is low level
We are able to cater for varying dietary needs, please advise staff on booking
There is a public bar situated on the ground floor to the right of the reception and is fully carpeted with a short pile carpet
There is a selection of tables and chairs available of varying heights

We also have a very comfortable lounge bar which is fully carpeted throughout and has a welcoming log fire in the winter months. The Lounge Area is split level and has one step down
Bar meals are served in the lounge area between 12 Noon and 3.00 pm and 6.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
The full a la carte menu is available in the restaurant between 6.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 7.30 am & 9.00 am

Bedrooms in the main building are on the first floor all en-suite and carpeted throughout
The Gaskell Mews Suites; are on two levels. There is one flight of stairs to the bedroom area which is fully carpeted whilst the ground floor seating area has laminated flooring and the bathrooms are tiled flooring. The door width to the shower room is 2’4”. Door width into the shower is 2’2”, shower base 2’6” x 2’2”, step height into the shower as 1’.
The Coach House Suite; There is one flight of stairs with one step down into the main bedroom width 2’4” and height 7”. The bath height is 1’8”, door to bathroom 2’4”. Mixer shower over bath, knobs of of knob type. There are also 2 steps down into the second bedroom with an interconnecting door

There are three steps up into the garden. Care must be taken and there is a handrail on the right-hand side of the steps. Wheelchair access is available

We have set evacuation procedures which are displayed in your room. For basic information – Alarm bells are a continuous alarm. Someone will come to your room and assist with evacuation either out of the building or to a refuge
All front house staff have regular training which includes disability awareness training
The network coverage for mobile phone is not too good. The Orange Network seems to be the best
Wi-Fi connection is now available (except in Room 7 and Room 16 where there is a poor signal) but also available in all public areas
